Johnston/Lesar Achievement Award
The scholarship is for a one-time cash award of at least $2000. Applicants should be good students with a 3.0 gpa or above, be community-minded, and ultimately want to earn a four-year college degree. Recipients will be chosen based upon the strength of grades, essay responses, letter of recommendation, and interview. The major donor, a Mesa lawyer, began this scholarship to honor two of his most influential teachers.
#IAM PROJECT (STEM) Scholarship
The #IAm Project is a response to the stark underrepresentation of women of color in STEM. While early exposure to STEM is important, establishing a healthy, sustainable environment is critical for the female scientists, techies, engineers, & mathematicians already here. With this in mind, we hope to pave the way for those following in our footsteps with the creation of this scholarship and mentoring network.
